Commerce City Police Department investigates shooting at El Viva Villa Bar and Grill

COMMERCE CITY ― The Commerce City Police Department is currently investigating a disturbance which resulted in shot’s being fired inside the bar at El Viva Villa Bar and Grill which is located at 5411 Quebec Street.

On November 15, 2008, just before 7:00 p.m. officers from the Commerce City Police Department responded to a report of a fight involving several males inside and outside of the said location.

While the fight was taking place, shots were fired. One male was transported to an area hospital with an injury to his head. The Commerce City Police Department was first informed by medical staff the male may have received a single gunshot wound to the head; however, medical staff is also stated the male may have been hit in the head with an unknown object. More time is needed to determine how the male received his injuries. The male, whose name is not being released at this time, is expected to survive his injuries. The only information the Commerce City Police Department has about a possible suspect is a Hispanic male, late twenties to early thirties, last seen fleeing the scene in a red Dodge Durango or Ford SUV.
