Child goes missing, momentarily. Officers responded to an apartment complex on the 12200 block of Bannock Street on July 22 after a 2-year-old Westminster girl wandered off, but later was found. The girl's 28-year-old father called police at 6:41 p.m. after he noticed the girl left the apartment. After calling her name several times and searching a local playground, he called police. A neighbor later called the man and told him the girl was playing at her apartment with her son.
Driver plows into parked car. Police were called to investigate an accident July 22 in which a driver slammed into a parked vehicle at Summit Apartments, 9017 Federal Blvd., Westminster. Officers believe the same driver, who was intoxicated, also plowed into a Federal Heights liquor store during the course of the evening. A witness told police he watched the suspect hit the parked car and then drive off, running over a raised embankment and a tree in the process. The witness said the driver then veered north and crashed into the liquor store. He was detained and arrested by Federal Heights police officers.
Wallet stolen from car. A 32-year-old Westminster woman reported July 22 that someone stole the wallet from her car. The woman, who lives in an apartment complex on the 8700 block of Allison Drive, noticed the missing wallet at around 7:30 a.m. She told police she forgot to close her garage door that evening and said that's probably how it was stolen. She canceled her credit cards.
Thief gets away with nachos, beef jerky. Officers were unable to locate a man who stole $35 worth of nachos, potato chips and beef jerky from a convenience store July 23. Police were dispatched at 1:26 a.m. to 7-Eleven, 10410 Melody Drive, Northglenn, on a shoplifting report. According to the clerk, the male suspect told him he was leaving with the unpaid goods before walking out the front door and driving away in a white Jeep Cherokee. Police officers searched the area, but were unable to find the snacking thief.
Bicyclist hit by driver. On Aug. 3 at approximately 2:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of East 120th Avenue on a report of a man who had been struck by a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse. The man was walking in the outside traffic turn lane of the 2000 block East 120th Avenue. Medical personnel responded to the scene and the man who appeared to have serious injuries was transported by helicopter to St. Anthony Central. The accident is currently under investigation.
Man's car plundered. More than $1,000 of goods were reported stolen from a 21-year-old Northglenn man's car July 23. The vehicle owner told police the items were taken while his car was in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 300 block of Malley Drive. Among the things taken were two amps, a MP3 player and $200 worth of monster cable wiring, according to the report.
Theft at construction area. A $1,500 condenser unit was reported stolen July 27 from a construction site on the 400 block of Malley Drive in Northglenn. The site foreman told officers the site was unsecured at the time of the theft. Anyone who witnessed the accident is being asked to call Northglenn police.

A Shooting Claims the life of 18 year old Dijoun Quinn... COMMERCE CITY - The Commerce City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 6500 block of Holly St. Officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the area. When they arrived they found a male lying on the ground. It appears that an 18 year old male was walking southbound on Holly St when he was shot multiple times. The male was transported to the hospital but did not survive his injuries. Commerce City police identified the 18-year-old as Dijoun Quinn, a recent graduate of Adams City High School who had enlisted in the Army. Quinn's Grandfather says his grandson didn't have any enemies and was not in a gang. There is no suspect information available at this time, and investigators are encouraging anyone with information to contact Detective Bryan VanderMeer at 303-289-3629 or the Commerce City Tip Line at 303-289-3626. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
