Suspect Vehicle Flees after Colliding with Juvenile Pedestrian

COMMERCE CITY ― On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Commerce City police responded to the 7400 block of Brighton Blvd. reference an injured male who had been hit by a vehicle. The vehicle struck the pedestrian then fled the area northbound. The vehicle was not located.

The pedestrian, a juvenile male, was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries.

The Accident Investigation Team has identified the vehicle as a mid to late ‘90’s model, dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon, which should have damage to the front right headlight assembly. The investigation is ongoing.

Commerce City Police are asking witnesses or other individuals with additional information to contact the Commerce City Police Department at (303) 288-1535.

Due to his age, the juvenile’s name is not being released.
