Vicious Dog Shot by Commerce City Police Officer

Officers from the Commerce City Police Department responded to a residence in the 8700 block of Rosemary Street on an unknown 911 call.

One of the officers entered the open gate of the property from the roadway, and was immediately confronted by three large dogs. The dogs acted very aggressively toward the officer, and the officer was forced to shoot and kill one of the dogs as it attempted to attack. The other two dogs then ran back to the residence. The homeowners were inside the residence at the time of the incident. The officer was not injured.
