Woman Sentenced for Embezzling over $750,000

Adams/Broomfield District Attorney Don Quick announced that Stacey Chevarria (dob: 11/03/1975) was sentenced to 10 years in prison for defrauding multiple homeowners associations in Adams County.

Chevarria pled guilty on April 12, 2010 to one count of Theft (F3) for misappropriating approximately $761,392.59 from her employer over a four-year time period. None of the stolen homeowners’ fees were reimbursed. The Westminster Police Department investigated the case.

Chevarria was employed by Vista Management Associates, a corporation that manages the financial accounts of 17 separate homeowners associations in neighborhoods throughout Adams County. On multiple occasions from 2006 through 2009, Chevarria was found to have transferred large amounts of cash paid by individuals as homeowners association fees into her own personal checking account.

Adams County District Court Judge Chris Melonakis sentenced Chevarria on July 7, 2010 to the Colorado Department of Corrections for 10 years to begin immediately.
