Commerce City / Reunion Police Substation opened officially

September 15, 2010. Commerce City / Reunion Village. The Commerce City / Reunion Police Substation opened officially Wednesday amidst a hundred or so local residents in attendance. A formal ribbon-cutting opened the new facility which will be home to at least 3 stationed officers on a 24/7 basis and other officers who will use the new offices for processing paperwork and conducting other business.

The new substation is expected to save the City of Commerce City on costs that include staffing and transportation while enhancing response times to northern police calls . The new facility presents a walk-in opportunity to anyone looking for information. While there is not expected to be a staffed receptionist until sometime in 2011, residents may still knock on the door to speak to an officer when the office is occupied. However, residents facing an emergency are still asked to call 911. The new facility will be directed and managed by Lieutenant David Cubbage.

In the next year, the City of Commerce City is expected to add video conferencing and training to its northern facilities as well as a full-time receptionist. Within the next two years, look for an increase in the size and staffing of Commerce City’s northern facilities.
