Commerce City Police Department seeks publics help in death investigation

COMMERCE CITY ― The Commerce City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in a death investigation that began on Saturday night, November 8, 2008. Chase Steven Covington, a twenty six year old male from Denver, was found lying in the roadway in the 5900 Blk of Colorado Highway 85, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Chase Steven Covington was pronounced dead at the scene after officers from the Commerce City Police Department arrived.

The Commerce City Police Department is attempting to determine if Chase Steven Covington was a victim of a hit and run accident, or maybe a victim of an assault. Chase Steven Covington had attended a wedding at the El Jardin restaurant in Commerce City near 72nd Ave and Colorado Highway 2 on Saturday evening. Chase Steven Covington left that wedding between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. wearing a black suit with a gray shirt and tie. Chase Steven Covington had contact with a friend around 10:30 p.m. via text messaging. This was the last known contact Chase Steven Covington had with family or friends. It is unknown how Chase Steven Covington got from 72nd Ave and Colorado Highway 2 to the 5900 Blk of Colorado Highway 85. This case is still under investigation. The Commerce City Police Department is asking for the public’s help with anyone who may have any information or was in the area of Colorado Highway 85 and 60th Ave on Saturday night between the hours of 11:00 to 11:30 p.m.

  1. Today is my brother's birthday. The pain one must feel to not be able to tell your brother happy birthday because someone cannot muster up the courage to tell the truth, is horrendous. I hope whoever has done this will come to justice.
