On Tuesday, March 24, 2009, Kevin Albert Martin, 25, of Thornton, died as a result of injuries sustained on Saturday, March 21, 2009.Martin had been and inmate in the Adams County Detention Facility since February 24, 2009, after being arrested by the Thornton Police Department for four outstanding warrants. The warrants were for Contempt of Court relating to a charge for a Driving Under the Influence, Third Degree Assault, Felony Theft, and the final warrant was for Criminal Mischief and Domestic Violence. His bond for the four warrants was $17,250.00.
Martin was not housed with any other inmate and was found hanging in his cell on March 21, 2009 during a routine check. Martin was transported to an area hospital where he remained until his death on March 24, 2009.
