The Adams County Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for Gabriel Joseph Almanza, 19, in connection with a homicide that occurred on August 30, 2009. The Southwest U.S. Marshal’s Task Force arrested Almanza in Victorville, California for investigation of First Degree Murder. Almanza is being held without bond and is awaiting extradition to Colorado. Almanza is accused of killing Ricky Bobian, 35, who resided in unincorporated Adams County. Deputies had responded to the 6600 block of Julian after receiving reports of a disturbance and shots being fired. Bobain was found in the street and was declared dead at the scene.
The Adams County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for the filing of criminal charges.
