Injury Accident Closes Highway 85

COMMERCE CITY ― On October 16, 2009 at about 5:30 p.m. the Commerce City Police Department responded to a report of an injury accident in the 5700 block of Highway 85. A driver exiting from westbound I 270 onto northbound Highway 85 lost control of their vehicle, a 2003 Buick four door. The Buick crossed the northbound lanes of Highway 85 and collided with a southbound semi with an empty fuel tanker trailer. The fuel tanker then crossed into the northbound lanes of Highway 85 completely blocking the roadway. The fuel tanker also hit another southbound semi causing minor damage to this truck.

The driver of the Buick was transported by ambulance to the hospital due to minor injuries from the accident. The police department is investigating whether alcohol or a medical condition contributed to the cause of this accident. The driver of the fuel tanker was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Highway 85 was closed in both directions and traffic was diverted onto I 270. The Colorado Department of Transportation provided assistance with the road closures. All roadways are now open.

  1. This is a good information regarding the injury caused by accident. Anyone who has been injured in an accident can make a claim quickly. If the accident has resulted due to the negligence of the other person, one can always make a claim. Following a simple procedure can help get compensation fast. If it can be proved that the injury has resulted due to the negligence of the other person, it is not difficult to make a claim. e understand that even in the most straightforward of circumstances, and even where the person responsible for the accident admits full responsibility, the prospect of making an accident claim can be daunting. Here is a good link which describes more about this injury claim.
