At about 8:15 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, Brighton police were dispatched to a robbery in which a gunshot was reportedly fired. The robbery attempt occurred at A & A Imports, 147 N. Main Street, in Brighton.
When officers arrived, they were told that a male had entered the business as they prepared to close for the evening, demanding money and displaying a gun. The male was described as being approximately 5’ 10” tall, weighing about 160-165 lbs., and wearing a black hooded jacket and sunglasses.
According to one victim, the male party entered the store as she went to collect a sign from the sidewalk outside, telling her to return to the store and give him money. The suspect fired a single shot inside the business and fled the store on foot. No one was injured by the gunfire. The male employee chased the suspect northbound on Main St., and through the parking lot of the VFW Post, where the suspect got into a maroon colored 4-door car. The car went westbound on Freedom Way, turning onto northbound Great Western Rd., where the employee lost sight of the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the suspect or suspect vehicle should call Detective Ron Rodriguez at (303) 655-2332.
