DeVisser was walking home along Weld County Road 37, south of Weld County 6 Tuesday evening when she was struck by a driver who fled the scene.
DeVisser's body wasn't found until Wednesday morning when a school bus driver spotted her.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office has turned the investigation over to the Colorado State Patrol, which said the woman died between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
