During the winter month’s large population of geese tend to seek out open areas to feed; unfortunately one such gaggle of geese has taken residency at the Buffalo Run Golf Course. Geese of this magnitude can easily destroy this championship course. So in an effort to stop further damage to the turf/grass at Buffalo Run Golf Course, the city will be setting off ‘‘cracker shells’’ to relocate the geese population.
The shells make a very loud noise and are designed to scare the geese from the area and not harm them. The shells will be set off randomly and as infrequently as possible. The permit to set off “cracker shells” is valid between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting Wednesday, Dec. 1 to Monday, March 28
