Brighton: Reward offered for vandalism to Library

On Jan. 17 and Feb. 4, several large plate glass windows of the Any Think Rangeview Public Library on East Bridge Street and 3rd Avenue were intentionally broken. The investigation revealed that it appeared someone riding in a vehicle on Bridge Street shot at the windows, shattering them. At the same time the windows of the Brighton Florist at 11th Avenue and Bridge Street were also shot and shattered.

In all, over a dozen windows have been shattered, causing damage in excess of $30,000.

Denver Metro Crimestoppers working with the Brighton Police Department has authorized a reward up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification and prosecution of the persons responsible for the vandalism.

There is a 24-hour tip line, 720- 913-7867, for callers to use if they have information involving these crimes. Callers who wish to remain anonymous may do so.

  1. I suggest they check with the 23 year-old, his 12 year-old brother and their hood-friends at 675 S. 2nd Ave. They have been know to shoot pellets and BB's at passing cars as they drive by.
