CSP Seeks Hit and Run Driver

COMMERCE CITY - At approximately 5:50 p.m. on Friday April 1st, a black jeep was pulled over on the left shoulder of westbound I-76 at 96th Ave. The driver of the jeep was struck by a westbound vehicle as he attempted to move a mattress from the left lane of traffic. The pedestrian, driver of the jeep, was an adult male in his early-mid twenties. The pedestrian was transported to Denver General Health with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him left the scene of the crash. The Colorado State Patrol is seeking your assistance in locating this vehicle and driver. The vehicle is described as a dark colored Saturn Sedan, that was last seen heading westbound on I-76 from E. 88th Ave. The driver that fled is described as a Hispanic female with dark hair. This person using a cane to walk and was last seen wearing a red oversize shirt with white shorts or skirt.

Interstate 76 was closed for 1 1/2 hours. This crash remains under investigation.
