Disturbance on the shoulder of Interstate 76 on Saturday night reported a date gone wrong.Commerce City Police were called to the 9000 block of I-76 around 10 p.m.for a roadside confrontation between a man driving a car and his female passenger.
As the officer pulled up, the woman was getting out of the car. The officer approached, but says the driver accelerated and the car brushed the officer's arm. The officer was not injured.
Other officers pulled the driver over about 20 blocks away, where I-76 turns into Highway 85.
Lt. Dennis Moon says the man driving the car appeared to be "very intoxicated" and resisted arrest.
Moon says the couple's date had gone wrong and they were arguing when the man pulled over on I-76. The woman did not appear to be injured.
The driver was expected to be charged with DUI and possibly resisting arrest.
No names were released in the incident.
