Man Found Guilty in Death of His Girlfriend

Adams/Broomfield District Attorney Don Quick announced this afternoon that Nicky Allen Martinez (dob 3/27/80) was convicted of first degree murder in the death of his pregnant girlfriend, Tanya Ealey (dob: 8/15/76).

On November 19, 2008 Brighton Police responded to a missing person’s call and learned that the victim had not been seen in 2 days. Evidence showed that Martinez manually strangled the victim before putting her under the bed where she remained until found by police.

“The jury obviously understood the gravity of this case”, states District Attorney Quick. “This was a senseless act of domestic violence. Not only did the family lose a daughter but also a grandchild.”

Martinez was immediately sentenced by Judge Thomas Ensor to life in prison without the parole and was remanded to the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections.
