Credit card skimmer found in Northglenn

A credit card skimmer was recently found at the Shell gas station at 120th Avenue and Claude Court in Northglenn after several City of Northglenn credit cards and personal credit cards were compromised.

The skimmer is a device that fits in a credit card reader and captures information needed to use the cards. That information can then be downloaded when the skimmer is removed.

Commerce City Police are not aware of any skimmers being used in the Commerce City area, however, police advise residents to be cautious when using any credit or debit card. Users should examine the card reader for something that looks bulky, is off-color or seems out of place.

For more information, contact Det. Conni Crook at the Commerce City Police Department, 303-727-3916.
